2D, gel and 4D raised plates made and fitted while you wait, from £25.
Any style can be made with a tinted finish for £10 extra, and ready-made tinted plates cost £35. Tinted plates are show plates only: they are not road legal in the UK and must not be used on the public road.
By law, road legal plates can only be supplied when you show your V5C logbook (or other proof of entitlement to the registration) and photo ID, such as a driving licence or passport. Please bring the originals to your appointment.
Every set of plates we make at our Catford workshop is produced to the current British Standard, with the correct Charles Wright font, character sizes and spacing. That keeps them MOT compliant and readable by ANPR cameras, and it means you will not be stopped for a mis-spaced or stylised registration.
UK law requires plate suppliers to check who you are and that you are entitled to use the registration before making plates. The GOV.UK guide to displaying number plates sets out the full rules on fonts, colours, borders and badges.
2D number plates are the standard flat print. They are the lowest-cost option and ideal as a like-for-like replacement for a cracked or faded plate.
3D gel number plates have raised resin characters with a glossy, domed finish. They add depth to the plate while staying fully road legal.
4D number plates use laser-cut acrylic characters fixed to the plate for a sharp, raised edge. In 5mm or 7mm they are the most popular upgrade for modified cars, SUVs and vans.
You can add a thin border in a non-reflective colour, and a national flag badge on the left of the plate with the UK identifier: the Union flag, the Cross of St George, the Saltire or the Red Dragon of Wales. Zero-emission vehicles can also carry a green flash. Other logos, sports badges and novelty fonts are not allowed on road plates.
Most plates are made and fitted in around 20 to 30 minutes, so you can wait in the workshop or pop to Catford town centre. Bring your V5C logbook (or a certificate of entitlement) and photo ID such as a driving licence, and we will do the rest, including fitting with screws or sticky pads.
We make plates for drivers from Catford, Lewisham, Bellingham, Hither Green, Lee, Forest Hill, Sydenham, Beckenham and Bromley. Book a time online, or send your registration on WhatsApp for a quick quote.
If you have bought private number plates, we can make the physical plates as soon as the registration is assigned to your car. Bring the V5C or certificate of entitlement showing the new registration. Show plates with tinted or stylised finishes are available for display only. As a local number plate supplier, we keep standard sizes in stock, including the short plates many motorbike and import owners need.
Plates are paid in full when ordered.
Send a photo of your car on WhatsApp and we will reply with a price.
